Khudiram Bose
The great Martyr of Bangle

Khudiram Bose, the great patriot, was born in Midnapur in
1889. Khudiram Bose lost his mother at a tender age and was reared up by his
elder sister. He was aspirited boy. Even from his school life he had
association with a revolutionary party. It was the ''Anushilan Samity''. The aim
and objective of this party was to carry on and armed movement against the
oppressive British rulers. At the behest of the party kshudiram left for Mujafforpur
with another revolutionary prafulla Chaki on amission to kill Kingsford,
atyrand magistrate. He harled his bomb aiming at the coachof Mr. Kingsford. But
the tyrant magistrate was unhurt as he was not in that coach. while escaping, he was arrested by the police
in 1908. He was sentenced to death in the month of August of the same year. The
great patriot moved to the scaffod fearlessly, with`Vande mataram’ in his lips.
Let me bid adieu, mother, let me go for a while. Let the Indians see me facing
the gallows with a smile` this song still rings in our ears.
